The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction™ – Case Study

Lakes catering and Stellex manufacturing Ltd. collaborate to create a fresh new look for The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction Tearoom;

The New Laundry Café is situated in The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction visitor attraction in Bowness, the café has been given a fresh new look and undergone a full refurbishment and rebrand.

Lakes were approached by the management team at The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction in November 2019 to re-design the front of house food service counter and kitchen area. The client’s brief and key objectives were to create a new modern counter incorporating a refrigerated Deli display and to upgrade the kitchen area works space including a Sota Turbochef i1 high speed oven.

The counter design reflects the Peter Rabbit blue colours and includes a bespoke 25mm coloured glass countertop with LED downlighting which has created a vibrant and contemporary feel that also compliments the traditional farmhouse feel of the café.

The cold multi-level deli and chilled merchandiser was supplied by CED and a Marco 48 Litre undercounter water boiler with Uber font installed on the back counter.

“It’s been great to been part of the refurb, with a small planning window we worked closely alongside Chris Robson (New Business Development Manager, Stellex) Roger Glossop (Director at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction) Matt Chubb (Building & Facilities Manager at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction) and Anita Henderson (Catering Administrator at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction)

We carefully re-designed the existing space to allow for the delivery and installation of the counter during the 4-week shut down period in January.”

Chris Robson Comments.

“This was a great project to have worked on from initial concept through to full design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke food service counter and fabrications throughout the back bar and kitchen areas. It was a pleasure to partner with Lakes Catering Maintenance to ensure that their client The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction received the bespoke quality look and feel that they expected from the equipment supplied. Collaboration on site was excellent and the project was delivered on time, on budget with a very happy end user.”

Following the handover, The New Laundry Café opened its doors for business on the 3rd February 2020

Anita Henderson (Catering Administrator) Comments.

“To say we are thrilled with our newly-refurbished café is an understatement, the space has been completely transformed, within the design we wanted to update the café to create a bright open space and a dining experience that will appeal to both new and returning customers.

The whole process with both Lakes & Stellex has been a totally smooth process, their attention to detail has been amazing in the short timeframe for the refurbishment.”

Leigh Howard Comments:

“This has been a satisfying project to be involved with, great to see the café transformation and looking so bright and airy space. I would like to commend our team again, with 5 other projects completing in January it was all hands-on deck to ensure the refurb deadline was completed on time and on budget for the 2020 season.”
